A woman was arrested in Memphis after allegedly shoplifting from Walmart.
But it was not your typical arrest. The woman is no longer allowed to shop at any Walmart in the country.
Ashley Cross was identified by police, and they said she was using an old barcode at a self-checkout to ring up everything she was buying for $1 each, according to WREG.
Police say she used the barcode to purchase 11 packs of ramen noodles, women’s boots, blue jeans, and a t-shirt. The total actual cost would have been $137.34.
Cross, who was charged with criminal trespass and theft of less than $1,000 in merchandise, was jailed on a $7,500 bond, according to USA Today.
The other issue is that Cross is on the Authorization of Agency list, which prevents her from visiting any Walmart in the United States due to previous shoplifting incidents.
According to USA Today, a company issues an Authorization of Agency list, which allows police to take action against trespassers, including arrests.
Cross had been convicted of shoplifting from several stores over the previous five years, according to the publication.
Cross was with another woman, who was accused of using the barcode to buy a backpack, two bras, a lash kit, and a car accessory. The total for that purchase would have been $57.86. WREG reported that she received a misdemeanor citation for theft of property.
