When the owners moved away, the little pup was left locked in a closet

(MA) While it is always sad when a dog who should be protected and loved by their owner is abandoned, what the pup you are about to meet has gone through is truly heartbreaking.

Star Bright, a 2-year-old puppy, previously lived with a ‘family’ in a home. Surprisingly, when that so-called family moved out, they left poor Star trapped in a locked closet. She was not discovered until the new family who bought the house moved in and found her.

Despite the horrific circumstances that led to her being in rescue care, Star has refused to let her own light go out. Thanks to Great Dog Rescue New England, she is now safe with a foster family while she waits for the true loving family she deserves.

This girl is a true star and has a heart that shines even brighter!”

Star Bright is a 2-year-old Boxer and Black Labrador Retriever mix pup weighing approximately 51 pounds as of March 25. She has a short coat that is listed as black, but the pictures show that she also has a significant amount of white on her chest, tummy, and paws.

Star is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. In terms of training, this good girl is housebroken, responds to her name, and understands basic commands like’sit’.

According to Great Dog Rescue New England, despite her ordeal, Star remains very loving. She is a happy and playful young pup who loves to run, play fetch, and make new friends wherever she goes. She enjoys playing with other dogs, even the smaller ones, and has shown no interest in cats when introduced to them.

She is very friendly when she meets new people and makes friends everywhere she goes! If you are ready to brighten up your life, look no further than Star Bright!”
