CINCINATTI, Ohio — Charges have been filed against the father of a three-year-old Ohio girl who died after being mauled by his dogs in late December.

According to Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Connie Pillich, a grand jury indicted Warren Houston, 45, on charges of reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter, and endangering children.

According to news reports, Kingsley Wright, a young child, was killed in an attack two days after Christmas while visiting her father’s Cincinnati apartment.

Pillich described the situation as “heartbreaking and devastating,” saying no family should have to deal with such a tragic loss.

She reiterated her commitment to ensuring accountability and justice in this heartbreaking case.

According to 911 audio obtained by WXIX, Houston called emergency personnel early on December 27, 2024, to report that he had just awoken and discovered his daughter dead.

He stated that there was blood everywhere and that the toddler had been seriously injured, but that he had no idea what had happened.

According to reports, Houston’s dogs, which are identified as terriers, were caged; however, when he awoke, he discovered that his child had been attacked.

In audio footage obtained by WLWT, an officer can be heard requesting that animal control secure the dogs.

Cincinnati Animal CARE confirmed to the news outlet that three dogs were removed from the home, but did not say what happened to them.

According to Hamilton County Jail records, Houston is being held on a $200,000 bond.
