After his unexpected death, Wesley Janes’ bereaved family claims that his heart and smile will never be able to be replaced.
The family of the 19-year-old Charles County native is currently dealing with heartbreaking grief after his untimely death on Friday, February 7.
Wesley was more than just a sibling. In a GoFundMe page to raise money for his funeral, she wrote, “He was a son, the most devoted brother, an incredible friend, and the best uncle — a person who brought light into everyone’s lives.”
“His unforgettable laugh, his kindness, his humor, his generosity, his empathy — all of the beautiful things that made him so special.”
According to his obituary, Janes loved being outside, going on adventures, and playing with his dog, Waffles.
“The outdoors was where he felt most at peace, surrounded by beauty and serenity,” the family wrote. Wesley was always amazed by the world around him and delighted in the small joys that nature offered, whether he was hiking through the woods or throwing a line into a calm stream.
“His adventurous spirit and love for exploration was contagious, and many cherished the memories made in the wilderness alongside him.”
Following Janes’ untimely death, which coincided with the deaths of his mother and grandmother, social media was inundated with tributes.
According to his sister, “Wesley was the biggest Mama’s boy, through and through,” “And now, as our hearts ache, we find a little peace knowing that he’s reunited in heaven with Mama and Grandma.”

“Wesley always said that if he had one wish, it would be simple: ‘I just want to own a bunch of land so I can hunt and fish all day every day,'” said his sister.
