Teen in Custody After Five Found Dead in Washington State Shooting at Home: Police

FALL CITY, WASH.—Police found five people dead in a home southeast of Seattle on Monday morning after a shooting. They also arrested a teenager, police said.

Several people called 911 around 5 a.m. to say there had been a shooting in Fall City, Washington, King County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mike Mellis told reporters Monday afternoon.

Mellis said that when officers arrived, they arrested one teen right away and took another teen who was hurt to a hospital in Seattle. Melis said that both teens live at the house.

He said that when deputies went into the house, they found the bodies of five people. Mellis said that three of them were young teens and two were adults. The names have not been made public yet.

As soon as bodies were found, it was clear that this was a very important crime scene, he said.

Mellis said that the shooting seems to have involved family members, but they didn’t say how they were connected yet. He also said that the neighborhood was not in danger at this time.

He said, “I have no reason to think that there will be any more arrests.”

Mellis said that the teen who was arrested was taken to King County’s youth detention center. An email from the county Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said the teen will have his or her first court date on Tuesday or Wednesday.

KING-TV was told by a neighbor that the house was occupied by a couple and their five children.

“I’m just shocked, and I can’t stop crying,” Lynne Trowern told the news source.

Cole-Tindall told KING-TV that hearing about the shooting made her “very sad and very disturbed.”
