Supporters of Trump in the Peninsula warmly welcome JD Vance back.

WOODSIDE, Calif. – On Wednesday evening, the Woodside journey was very bad. It had little to do with work and everything to do with trying to win the November general election.

“This is a party for (JD) Vance.” As Rosa Ruiz waved a big American flag, she said, “We want Vance to know that we love him here in California.”

Around 5 p.m., she was one of 100 people leaning to the right who met at the corner of Woodside and Whisky Hill roads for a GOP party to see Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, as the vice presidential nominee.

“Getting together shows that we can now be heard.” And I think a lot of us have been quiet at home. As another proud Trump supporter put it, “I think it’s good that if the left can have their voice, we can have ours too.”

This is the second time in a month that the Republican ticket has been to the Peninsula. They are probably there because of a group of rich donors. Organisers said that the social problems in the country were what brought them to the town and the side of the road.

“I live in a socialist and a corrupt world.” There are many things I do that were bad for my old country. “Now I know that America is the best place,” said a co-organizer who did not want to be named.

People sold a range of Trump-branded goods to help spread the “America is Best” message. Trump T-shirts, hats, scarves, and other novelty things were set up on two tables.

People who sold things said, “They don’t have it,” when asked why sales were so good. “No one around here has been doing it.” That’s the main draw. There are spots on the street where people do it, but not as much as I do.”

Democrats, Trump fans, and everyone else on the right had another chance to blow their own horns in support of their ticket on Wednesday night.
