On October 9, 16, and 23, SSDI checks will be sent. But the amount that each person gets might be very different. This is because your Disability Insurance check is based on a lot of different facts.
For instance, when your disability first shows up is an issue. If you file for Social Security early, your SSDI payment will be less. You can get different amounts of disability payments depending on your age, your wages, the jobs you had, and the number of years you worked.
SSDI payment amounts
Your disability payment amount will depend on the things we’ve already talked about. For instance, you could get $3,822 in October if you worked for 35 years, paid into Social Security, filed as late as the system lets you, and had jobs that were covered by the system.
Your payment might be more like the average if you didn’t make more money. One SSDI check costs about $1,539 as of August 2024. There is something you can do if you just applied for Disability Insurance and don’t know how much you might get.
You can check your Social Security Statement to see if and how much you have paid in taxes to keep getting SSDI. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can be applied for by people who get a very small payment from the government.
