Every month, the Social Security Administration (SSA) sends out about 70 million checks to people, including retirees, disabled people, and people who may not have earned enough credits because they didn’t have enough resources.
The SSA recently made changes to more than 50 forms to make things easier for the people it helps. As part of this streamlining, changes will be made to how some papers are sent, which will make transactions easier and faster for those who receive them.

With this new online service option, our customers can send 50 forms and nearly 80 types of proof electronically to our representatives, and our representatives can receive them electronically. We need you to give us this information so that we can process your forms and other business.
With this change, people will no longer have to send forms or papers by mail, fax, or in person to Social Security offices. The blog post makes the point of this new feature clear: “By streamlining our document submission process and cutting down on mail, we are making your experience better.”
How the Process Works
The SSA gives people a step-by-step guide on how to use the new method. First, a Social Security worker gives the customer a secure link asking for the forms or other paperwork that is needed for their case.
The customer is then asked to either log in to their My Social Security account or make a new one if they don’t already have one. After logging in, the user can look over the specific request, fill out the forms, add an electronic signature (if needed), and send both the forms and any other proof that is needed.
This method cuts down on the need to mail or fax documents, which saves time and effort and cuts down on the number of times people have to go to the Social Security office. Customers can handle everything online, which makes the process easier and faster.
Users also have 30 days to electronically upload the documents that are being asked for, and the SSA will send emails to users as the limit approaches. If the internet request expires, users can call their local office to have it sent again, or they can mail, fax, or bring in their forms instead.

Social Security Forms Available for Electronic Signature
At this point, more than 30 forms have been changed so that they can be sent electronically. These include some of the most popular forms that Social Security recipients use. These make up about 90% of the forms that people usually fill out when they deal with local offices.
The SSA-827, which is used to give permission for information to be shared with the Social Security Administration, can now be signed and sent online. Other forms that are often asked for and can be signed electronically are:

– SSA-634, Request for Change in Overpayment Recovery Rate
Also, a lot of these forms can be uploaded online, which makes the process of sending them even easier. The SSA has also hinted that they might get rid of the need for signatures on some other forms in the future, which would make the process even easier for people.
