Some states began sending SNAP money to people who were qualified on October 1. Not all of them started on that day, though, and some will start delivering Food Stamps on October 4.

The USDA and the Food and Nutrition Service say that Alabama, Arkansas, Maryland, Minnesota, and Mississippi will be the first states in the USA to start giving out SNAP benefits on April 4.

Eligibility for SNAP benefit payments on October 4 in Alabama and Arkansas

From October 4th to October 23rd, Alabama will send Food Stamps. Check the last two numbers of your SNAP case number to see when your payment is due. Let’s say your case number ends in 00-04. On October 4, your payment will be put on your EBT card.

Beginning October 4, Arkansas will also send Food Stamps along with Alabama. But the State of Arkansas will only send SNAP funds until October 13. Also, you need to check your SSN. If your SSN ends in 0 or 1, you will get Food Stamps on October 4.

For each person, the most they can get is up to $292 after the 2025 COLA rise. One family of four can get up to $975, and a family of eight can get up to $1,756. In the 48 states that are next to each other, these maximum numbers are the same.
