Shooter Faces 6 Life Sentences for Deadly Drive-By Involving Teens in St. Mary's County

Keion Steven Brooks, who lived in Great Mills, was found guilty of first-degree murder of a 19-year-old and attempted murder of five other teens in January 2022.

The shooting happened in the 21400 block of Westbury Boulevard in the Lexington Park area in the afternoon of January 12, 2022.

One teen was pronounced dead at the scene, and others were taken to the hospital with injuries related to the drive-by.

Brooks will get at least 123 years in prison and up to six life sentences when he is sentenced.

State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling said, “I want to thank the members of the jury who found the defendant guilty on all counts.” “Over the course of four days, the jury carefully listened to all the evidence and heard all the witnesses from both the State and the Defense.”

“I also want to thank the hardworking police officers, detectives, crime lab technicians, legal assistants, victim witness advocates, evidence technicians, and prosecutors who did everything they could to help the victims and their families get justice.”
