Wakeeney, Kansas (WFRV) – On Saturday, a Kansas police department recovered a stolen vehicle from Wisconsin from a juvenile who is a person of interest in a Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department death investigation.
According to the WaKeeney Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle that ran a stop sign and discovered that it had been stolen from Wisconsin. Wisconsin authorities informed officials that the person driving the vehicle could be armed.
The subject was identified and confirmed to be a juvenile wanted out of Wisconsin. The items in the vehicle matched information from Wisconsin authorities.
The juvenile subject is a person of interest in the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation into the deaths of two people discovered in a Waukesha residence.
The subject is being held in a juvenile detention center awaiting extradition under Kansas and Wisconsin laws.
The WaKeeney Police Department added that they are working with Wisconsin officials on the case.
