According to the Barry County Sheriff’s Deputies, a head-on collision that occurred on State Road, northwest of Hastings, on October 25 resulted in the death of a man.
Hastings resident Tristin Prentice, 23, passed away as a result of the collision that occurred at 1:20 p.m. on State Road close to Wood School Road in Irving Township, Barry County, according to the police.
The second driver, a woman from Clarksville who was 41 years old, was taken to the hospital.
According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, Prentice was operating a Mercury Milan in the southeast direction on State Road when the vehicle ran the centerline and collided head-on with a Lincoln Navigator that was approaching from the opposite direction.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Deputies from the Barry County Road Commission, the Hastings Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance provided assistance to the sheriff’s office.
