State Representative Ron Ferguson, R-Wintersville, is currently serving his third term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He chairs the Freedom Caucus, is a Club for Growth Fellow, and serves as the national director of Young Americans for Liberty’s Hazlitt Coalition.

If you want to see truth in American politics, start by electing truthtellers.

I’ve never met Vivek Ramaswamy’s wife, Apoorva, but she said some powerful words that deserve to be repeated: “He will be the best governor this state has ever seen.”

Apoorva knows this because she knows Vivek, and I know it because I understand who Ohio requires. That’s the truth.

I will explain.

Special interests, unelected bureaucrats, and the deep state have rigged the system against ordinary Ohioans. I see it every day in the statehouse hallways.

Common sense, America-first policy is the last thing the political class wants, and to defeat the insiders, you need an outsider.

Spending five years in office as an outsider taking on Ohio’s corrupt system has shown me the depths of the American nightmare—but I can also see the peak of the mountain.

we need committed Ohioans

At the top, there is a light that will lead Ohio out of the darkness that has stifled its success for decades. But getting to the top will require Ohioans from all walks of life—Republicans, forgotten Reagan Democrats, libertarians, and independents—to band together against the corrupt establishment.

We need dedicated Ohioans who are tired of a government that obstructs their path to the American Dream rather than clearing it.

As an outsider, I’ve witnessed victories against the odds.

For example, beginning in April, Ohio hospitals will be required to disclose their prices in clear, straightforward dollars and cents.

Patients will no longer be left in the dark and saddled with crippling medical debt because hospitals hid behind complicated algorithms and vague estimates. I drafted the bill that will guarantee you those prices, based on President Trump’s executive order.

It’s a huge victory for Ohio families, but getting there felt like pushing a boulder up a hill. Special interests sent armies of lobbyists to oppose this commonsense reform. If you want to defend against the healthcare cartel, you need a governor like Vivek Ramaswamy.

Reforming healthcare through a free market was only the beginning. My next major reform is the Ohio REINS Act, which aims to rewire the corrupt system of unelected bureaucrats so that it truly serves the people of Ohio.

In true America First style, Vivek supports the federal REINS Act, saying, “(it) codifies the basic idea of a democracy: the people we elect to make the laws should be the ones who actually make the laws.” He understands the importance of structural change in dismantling the deep state and restoring accountability.

Ohio can abolish property taxes

Now, I’m embarking on one of my most ambitious reforms: abolishing Ohio’s property tax. None of us truly own our homes; we simply rent them from Uncle Sam.

Ohio has the potential to become the first state in the country to abolish the property tax, but we need a governor who is bold enough to lead us there. Vivek launched his campaign with a bold proposal to abolish property taxes.

We already have legislators in place, but we need a governor to lead the charge and make that dream a reality.

The state legislature has a strong contingent of freedom fighters, and we’ve already brought the political class to a halt.

But, with Governor Ramaswamy’s decisive leadership, we can send the entrenched political establishment face-first into the mud.

And that is the truth.
