Next SSDI benefit payments: Find out when Social Security will send checks of up to $3,822

On November 1, 2024, the first payments from Social Security Disability Insurance were made. After reading this, you will know when your SSDI payment is due in November. You will also see the highest amount of money that these disability benefits can pay out, as well as the average amount. Check with the Administration to see if you can get this money.

You can get these disability payments on November 1, 13, 20, or 27 after applying for SSDI and being approved. Since the November 1 payment was for people who get both Social Security and SSDI, or who started getting benefits before May 1997, let’s look at who is eligible for each Wednesday payment.

Who is eligible for the Nov. 13, 20, or 27 SSDI payment?

SSDI will be sent on November 13 if you:

  • have your birthday on: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10
  • do not receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits
  • began receiving Social Security Disability Insurance after April 30, 1997
  • remain eligible

Social Security Disability Insurance will be sent on November 20 if you:

  • have your birthday from the11th to the 20th
  • do not receive SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits
  • started collecting Social Security Disability Insurance after April 30, 1997
  • have not lost eligibility (e.g. you began working and earnings exceed the limit)

Social Security Disability Insurance will be sent on November 27 if you:

  • started getting Social Security Disability Insurance after April 30, 1997
  • still qualify

Average and maximum SSDI benefit payments in November

Up to $3,822 in disability benefits may be given to you if you have a qualifying disability that has kept you from working for more than a year and have enough work credits.

But filing and getting approval are required. You must have worked for at least 35 years to get such a big payment. This is very hard to do because a disability can keep you from working as early as your 20s.

Also, you must have earned the most that is taxed for 35 years. There’s no need to say how hard it is. Many times, a disability makes it impossible to file as late as Social Security allows. That’s why, according to the SSA’s Monthly Statistical Snapshot for September, the average SSDI payment is only about $1,539 a month.
