There are still two November paychecks left if you are eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance but not SSI. People who get SSDI might get a new monthly payment on November 20.
Remember that this is not the last paid day of the month for disability insurance. Then, based on your birthday, you will either get the most recent one or the most recent one.
The Social Security Administration has already sent out two SSDI checks. If you received either of them, you will not be able to get the November disability insurance payments. But if you qualify, you might get SSI.
SSDI payment in November in less than 48 hours
On November 20, people who are eligible and have a qualifying disability will get a Social Security Disability Insurance payment if
- they started receiving benefits after May 1997
- they are not receiving SSI benefits
- Their birth date is from 11-20
You can see that your birthday is important because it determines which payments you can get. Anyone whose birthday is between January 21 and December 31 will get SSDI on November 27, 2024. If you get SSI, your next payment will be on November 29, which is two days after your Disability Insurance payment.
SSDI maximum and average amounts
In 2024, the biggest SSDI payment will be $3,822. This is also the most you’ll get on November 20 or 27. Disability insurance payments are usually a lot less than other types of payments.
People who are working have to file earlier than retirees because of their health. As of October 2024, the normal SSDI payment is around $1,542. About $421 is given to the spouses of workers who have disabilities every month.
Social Security Disability Insurance checks, which can be worth up to $495, may also be given to children of workers who have a disability.
There will be no increase in the 2025 COLA in any of the November payments for people on disability. The cost of living will go up when people get their January checks.
