New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware Face Heavy Rain Through Monday; Cold Snap to Follow Tuesday Night

Philadelphia, PA – A soaking rain is expected to move across parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware starting late Sunday and lasting until Monday morning, with some areas receiving more than an inch of rain.

According to the National Weather Service Mount Holly, the region will see scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Saturday night and Sunday, with more widespread rain arriving Sunday night.

Rainfall totals through Monday are expected to be between 0.25 and 0.75 inches, with some areas receiving more than one inch.

Temperatures will remain seasonably mild until Sunday evening, with lows ranging from the low 40s in the north to near 60 in southern Delaware.

The rain is expected to end by late Monday, but a sharp cold front will bring much colder air. Tuesday’s highs will only reach the 40s or low 50s, with gusty northwest winds of 25-35 mph.

A widespread freeze is possible on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, particularly in areas that have already begun seasonal planting.

Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor plants and stay weather-aware as conditions rapidly change.

Local emergency alerts and the National Weather Service are good sources for regional updates and preparedness tips.
