Minnesota-Northwest Wisconsin Snow Chance: 1 to 4 Inches Possible in Arrowhead Region by Tonight

Duluth, MN – A cold front moving through Minnesota is bringing light to moderate snow to the Arrowhead region and parts of northwest Wisconsin, potentially affecting travel until Sunday night.

According to the US National Weather Service Duluth, snow showers will develop today across far northern Minnesota and northeast into Wisconsin, with visibility rapidly decreasing during heavier bursts.

While much of the region will receive a dusting to an inch of snow, Ashland and Iron Counties’ snow belts could receive up to four inches.

Light rain may precede the snow, particularly in northwest Wisconsin, as temperatures today range from 36°F to 54°F, with the coolest air centered over northern Minnesota.

Monday and Tuesday are expected to be drier and calmer, with highs reaching 38°F in the Arrowhead and near 45°F in the southern part of the region.

Drivers are advised to be cautious, particularly in areas where snow bands may intensify throughout the evening.

Visibility could rapidly deteriorate, and untreated roads could become slippery. The weather service recommends adding extra travel time and checking local advisories.

A brief warm-up is expected by midweek, with light rain possible across much of the state on Wednesday, with the exception of far northern Minnesota.
