Citizens of the United States who have received a retirement check may be eligible for another before the end of January 2025.
This additional check is important for many citizens who do not have another source of income. However, not all Americans are eligible for this payment.
Retirees who are eligible for this payment may have access to a maximum of $967, but this does not mean that all retirees will have such a large sum.
The payment we receive from this type of benefit is directly related to our income. The more we earn, the less of this additional payment we will receive.
Regardless, we must carefully consider the requirements for receiving this additional payment not only in January, but throughout the year.
This payment is made monthly, so we will be able to have a slightly larger budget to cover our monthly bills and other expenses.
Who can get this extra payment of $967?
The benefit we’re discussing is Supplemental Security Income, and this monthly check of up to $967 has two very specific requirements. If we meet them, the payment will be made on the first of each month, unless otherwise specified.
The two SSI requirements are:
- Be age 65 or older or have a disability.
- Have a low income, as well as low resources.
It is critical to remember that we must always meet both of these requirements.
The first requirement is more likely to be permanent, whereas the second is subject to change. If we earn enough money, we may be able to stop receiving SSI checks. Likewise, the amount of money we receive can vary.
The payment for the month of February 2025 will be sent on January 31. This is because February 1st will fall on a weekend. When this happens, the Administration sends the check on the business day before.
This payment, which is compatible with checks for retirement and other benefits, will be delivered on the same day to citizens who have Direct Deposit enabled.
