Tina Brown has written many books about the British royalty and used to be the editor of Vanity Fair, the New Yorker, and the Daily Beast. She has some very harsh things to say about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s experiment after they became royal.
Brown called Meghan “the worst judge in the world” in a new audio interview. She also called her 40-year-old husband “a child” and a “lamb to slaughter” who “blindly” followed his American TV actress wife to California and gave up the one job he was good at: being a prince.
A person named Brown told the Janice Min of The Ankler show, “I think he’s pretty much in the thrall of Meghan.” “In this case, he’s the lamb to the slaughter.” That is, he was really taken by Meghan. She seemed to know everything.
She told him that she was the smart Hollywood con artist who could make them famous and do all that other stuff. He pretty much just followed her around like a child.
But the couple’s plans to become media moguls and world leaders in ideas haven’t worked out the way they had hoped when they abruptly quit being royal in 2020 and moved to the US. Brown blames Meghan a lot. In her book “The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil,” she called Meghan “sixth on the call sheet,” which means she was just a small TV actor.
“The problem with Meghan is that she has the worst sense of right and wrong,” Brown, who is writing a new Substack magazine called “Fresh Hell,” said. Brown said, “She always gets everything wrong.” She is, really.
Brown said, “Her problem is that she doesn’t listen” when asked about Meghan’s lack of business sense or her inability to get people to carry out big plans.
She talks to all of these people, asks them what they think, but then she doesn’t do what they say. She does what she chooses. And, sadly, all of her ideas are rubbish.
Brown is probably talking about how Meghan and Harry missed out on a multimillion-dollar chance to make groundbreaking podcasts for Spotify or to direct hit TV shows and movies for Netflix. According to a report by Puck, they had a five-year, $100 million deal that might not be renewed.
At the same time, Meghan seems to be having a hard time launching her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. There have been a lot of stories about staff turnover, and people keep saying she’s “Duchess Difficult” and not nice to work for.
Twelve current and past employees were interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter in September and said that she “puts people down,” doesn’t listen to advice, and is a “dictator in high heels” who fumes, barks orders, and emails her staff at 5 a.m.
A source told the Hollywood Reporter that both Meghan and Harry are “poor decision-makers,” which is similar to what Brown said about the couple. Harry is sweet at times, but he also lets his wife do bad things.
Brown said, “Unfortunately, she made every mistake in the book, and she’s kind of run out of road.” “I don’t know where Meghan goes,” I said.
Brown also said that Harry “could make a comeback.” He’ll always be Prince Harry, after all. He will always be Diana’s grandson and the Queen’s son. No matter what, you can’t take that away from him.
Brown said that Harry, who has only worked in the British army, is good at traveling around the world and acting like a prince while supporting his favorite causes. This was the case on his most recent tour, which took him to New York, London, and Africa.
Brown said, “He’s just really good at it when he goes on these abroad trips that people make fun of.” “He’s charming, funny, nice, and real to himself again.” He really feels like he’s being honest and real, and he’s great at it.
According to Brown, it’s really sad that he can’t go back to England and play that part, which is sorely needed right now because the monarchy is basically nothing but bones. He was referring to the fact that both King Charles III and Kate Middleton have been sick with cancer and can’t do much.
“It’s funny that Prince Charles talked about thinned-out monarchies for so long,” Brown said. “It has lost so much weight that it looks like it’s dying.”
“You basically have Charles, who has cancer.” Kate, who had a terrible cancer battle and had to leave the stage for almost a year, and William, who is so busy with his wife, his father, and everything else that he could use an upbeat, happy ambassador to the world like Harry.
Brown, on the other hand, said she doesn’t think Harry will be accepted back because he is angry at his older brother William, who will one day be king.
Brown said, “The problem is a lot like the problem I talked about with Princess Diana and Charles. That problem was called the ‘upstage problem.'” “I mean, he does make William look bad.” There is no question about it.
Brown also said that William and Harry are “hostile” with each other, which means that William probably will never “want Harry back.”
But what about the people of Britain if William doesn’t want to forgive his brother? Polls show that Harry’s popularity in the U.K. dropped sharply after he left the country, and he used interviews and his autobiography, “Spare,” to loudly criticize his family.
But Brown thinks that the British people would be glad to see Harry again, but only “if he came back alone.” This means that Harry would not be with his wife, who is seen even less positively in the UK. It’s said that Meghan doesn’t really want to spend any time in the U.K. ever again.
