Marching band from Middletown is on their way to perform in presidential inauguration

The Middletown High School marching band is on its way to Washington, DC, to perform at the presidential inauguration.

Middletown’s marching band and cheerleaders will take part in Monday’s presidential parade, as requested by Vice President-Elect and Middletown native JD Vance.

Approximately 160 band members, cheerleaders, staff, and chaperones left Middletown around 6 a.m. on Sunday.

According to a post on the Butler County Sheriff’s Office website, deputies and Middletown police officers will accompany the band to Washington, D.C.

The Middletown Musical Arts Club announced that the marching band will be one of seven in the parade.

Their performance will include two songs, with the band and cheerleaders marching together.

Students previously told News Center 7 that they are excited to visit the nation’s capital on Inauguration Day and make their presence felt.

The band received over $170,000 in private and state funding for the trip.

The students, faculty, and chaperones will return to Middletown on Tuesday.
