JD Vance confronts protesters for scaring his kid during a rally near his Cincinnati home

CINCINNATI – JD Vance allegedly spoke to some of the dozens of protesters that gathered near the vice president’s home in East Walnut Hills Saturday, voicing their opposition with signs and flags at the intersection of Columbia Parkway and William Howard Taft.

The group, numbering between 30 and 40 people, primarily displayed signs supporting Ukraine.

Vance described the incident on his X account, writing, “Today, while walking my 3-year-old daughter, a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared.”

The post went on to say, “I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that they would leave my toddler alone in exchange for a few minutes of conversation.” (Almost everyone agreed.) It was a mostly respectful conversation, but chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a jerk.”

This was the second day of protests, and attendance reportedly doubled from the previous day. Passing drivers honked and supported the demonstrators, but there were also expletive-laden exchanges with supporters of JD Vance and President Donald Trump.

Another protest was planned for Sunday afternoon in the same area.
