Israeli airstrikes early Friday morning in the Khan Younis area of Gaza killed at least 38 Palestinians, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said Friday. Dozens more were hurt.
“The Israeli occupation killed many civilians by shooting them in their homes in the southeast Khan Yunis area last night and this morning. “Dozens of people were hurt and 38 people were killed; most of them were children and women,” the health ministry wrote on Facebook.
Israeli forces also attacked the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. The war is still going on, which is causing a huge humanitarian crisis. Israel says that Hamas hides in hospitals and tunnels below them.
They said in a statement, “The situation inside the hospital is catastrophic in every sense of the word.”
Israel’s military said on Friday that they were working in the area of the hospital and that they had information that there were “terrorists and terrorist infrastructure in the area.”
On X, the IDF said it helped move 23 patients and 26 guards from the Kamal Adwan Hospital to other hospitals in Gaza. Five ambulances and four U.N. vehicles were used for the transfer.
They said in a statement Friday morning that they had “eliminated several terrorists from the air and the ground and dismantled numerous terrorist infrastructures” over the course of the day.
The Gaza health ministry said in a statement that action had to be taken right away to save Kamal Adwan hospital, which was then attacked by Israeli soldiers, according to the state-owned Anadolu Agency.
“The world stands by while the most horrific genocide and the systematic dismantling of our healthcare system occurs, with patients and medical personnel facing violence and detention,” the health ministry said. “We cannot comprehend how the world remains silent in the face of such atrocities.”
The Gaza Health Ministry said that Israeli forces had trapped hundreds of patients and staff inside the hospital.
The foreign minister of Jordan said that Israel is “ethnically cleansing” northern Gaza. In the past few weeks, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and tens of thousands have been forced to leave their homes in northern Gaza.
Because it attacked Gaza with weapons, Israel is being sued in the International Court of Justice for genocide.
In January, the court told Israel to stop the horrible things happening in Gaza right away. The US and Israel both say the case has no basis in fact.
