Increased SNAP 2025 COLA The Upcoming Cycle of Food Stamp Benefits

The USDA has reported that SNAP benefits have gone up in the 48 contiguous states, the District of Columbia, Alaska, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands since the 2025 COLA.

But in Hawaii, SNAP payments have gone down. So, people who get food stamps might think that a small COLA boost isn’t so bad after all. It used to be $973, but now a family of four can get $975.

Highest SNAP payments in the United States after COLA

After the cost of living adjustment (COLA), Alaska, Hawaii (even though they got a cut), Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands got the most money from SNAP. But Alaska will get the most Food Stamp payments from all of these places in 2024 and 2025.

To explain this, they have higher inflation because of the unique situations they live in. Prices for things and services go up because it costs more to bring them in from other parts of the world. In some way, it’s a remote place. Energy prices may also go up when there is extreme weather.

They have three different maximum payment amounts after COLA because of this. It depends on where you live. City, Country 1, or Country 2 are their names. A family of four could get up to $1,953 if they lived in Rural 2 and up to $1,258 if they lived in an Alaskan city.
