Palm Beach County, Florida, police said Monday that they had arrested two illegal immigrants in connection with the sex trafficking of a New York City girl who is 15 years old.
During a news conference, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said that detectives began working on the case after getting a tip about a teenage runaway who hadn’t been seen since September 12 and was thought to be a victim of a sex trafficking network.
As an excuse to get the child back, investigators used commercial sex ads to find them and starting talking to them. The child was found at a Motel 6 in Riviera Beach by police. She said that two to three doors down were two people who were both involved in the sex trafficking.
The girl was trafficked to Florida
The victim was recruited in New York City and then taken to Florida to perform sex acts for money, according to authorities. Authorities say she was forced to do sex acts at least ten times.
The kid was sex traded by Enyerbert Blanco, a 27-year-old Venezuelan who had already been sent back to Venezuela, and Yenire Karolina Pache Coleiton, a 33-year-old Colombian.
Bradshaw said that the police are still looking into the sex trafficking, which is thought to be linked to a gang in Venezuela.
