Police say a woman in Virginia who was angry about a “botched” pizza order had her husband stab and gut a worker who was arguing with her about it.
“Take care of things,” Catherine Harper, 45, told her 47-year-old husband Corey Harper over the phone after a fight she had with a 24-year-old worker at Mod Pizza, a fast-casual pizza chain.
The local NBC affiliate WAVY got court documents that go into great detail about the violent attack in the middle of the day. It is said to have been caused by a “botched order” from the Seattle pizza place.

A report from November 18 says that the victim was stabbed several times, in the back and the front, and had a long cut across the torso that showed her intestines. The report also says that Corey Harper and his wife left the scene.
After being arraigned on Monday, the couple was told by a judge in Norfolk General District Court that they would be held without bond.
The case records show that Corey Harper is charged with two felonies: malicious wounding and brandishing a firearm. His wife is charged with planning to commit malicious wounding. They have to go back to court on January 14.
The chain and management of Mod Pizza told WAVY on Monday that they were “dismayed” to hear about the victim’s near-death experience, which happened because of a “botched order.”
“We were disappointed to hear about the fight at our Lake Wright restaurant in the Norfolk area between one of our employees and two guests,” the chain said. “Because of the fight, one of our MOD squad members had to go to the hospital and one of the guests was arrested.” Please keep in mind that this is still being looked into, and we are working with the local police.
While our team member is in the hospital getting better, we are doing our research and will make a well-thought-out decision about what to do. MOD Pizza will not stand for behavior that makes problems worse, whether it’s from a customer or a team member.
After the killings, Mod officials say their “top priority is creating a fun and inspiring place to work and a great place to eat.” They are “fully cooperating” with the Norfolk Police Department’s investigation.
The restaurant said, “Times like these force companies to rethink how they train their workers and look for ways to reinforce values and expectations.”
