Florida lady, 44, uses 'botox' reason to explain age after fraudulently applying for hurricane aid: police

It is said that a 44-year-old Florida woman used her mother’s name to apply for hurricane aid, telling city workers that Botox made her look younger.

The Bradenton Police Department says that Veronica Torres was charged with a third-degree felony count of filing a false public assistance claim after she applied for and got almost $8,000 in funds.

Police said the 44-year-old woman tried to trick government workers by applying for disaster aid using her mother’s name, driver’s license number, and social security number.

Police say in her application she said she had to leave her home because of the damage from Hurricanes Milton and Helene.

Police said the 44-year-old woman almost got away with her alleged scheme until a careful city worker noticed the difference in ages.

Authorities say that the city worker noticed Torres when she came to pick up her $7,967 check on November 14.

Police said that the 44-year-old tried unsuccessfully to convince the employee that she had undergone “botox treatments” that provided transformational results.

Police in Bradenton asked Torres to come back the next day so they could question her.
