Body camera video from cops in Wisconsin shows the takedown and arrest of a 17-year-old suspect who had just stabbed a teen girl after breaking into her home through a bedroom window.
According to a criminal complaint by the Onalaska Police Department obtained by Eau Claire ABC affiliate WEAU , the 15-year-old victim called cops in the early morning hours of Sept. 2, 2022, to say that she was awoken to a person stabbing her.
She was able to fight her attacker off but part of her pinkie was falling off. The girl identified the suspect as Austin Bailey.
She reportedly told cops she had been hanging out with Bailey earlier in the night but became uncomfortable when a friend told her that he had taken unsolicited photos of her while she was sleeping and stored them in a folder on his phone called “love of my life.”
With the help of Bailey’s mother, cops tracked him to a nearby apartment complex where they found him standing outside holding a knife. At first, officers tried talking him into dropping the weapon.
“I know things aren’t good right now,” a cop said. “Like we said it’s not the end of the world. She’s gonna be OK. This has gotta be it.”
But Bailey wasn’t having it.

“F—ing shoot me,” he said. “Shoot me or I’m gonna stab myself. But either way, I’m gonna die.”
Cops eventually shot Bailey with a nonlethal round. They then took him to jail.
Now 19, Bailey pleaded guilty earlier this year to attempted first-degree intentional homicide, court records show.
A judge sentenced him in March to 16 years in prison with 556 days credit for time served. Once released from prison, he’ll be on probation for four years.
