Early voting for the 2024 General Election began Monday in South Florida

If you live in South Florida and want to vote early, you can do so starting Monday, October 21 and ending on Sunday, November 3.

People in Miami-Dade County can vote early at 33 sites across the county. These locations are open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and voters are encouraged to use this chance to cast their ballots before Election Day.

There will be 29 early voting sites in Broward County. These sites will be open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Joe Scott, who is in charge of elections in Broward County, tells all eligible voters to use early voting to make sure their views are heard.

Go to browardvotes.gov or call 954-357-VOTE (8683) to find out more about early voting in Broward.

The time has come for Giuseppe and Maria Imbrenda.

“My vote is in my car,” Giuseppe said. “We vote early.”

They are going to go to an early voting site and drop off their mail-in votes in person. This time, they found that the vote has a lot on it.

Maria looked over a sample vote and said, “I know a lot of this. Not all of it, but a lot of it.”

A lot of people say you should study before you vote.

“I do some research. Since I live in Doral, I look at the proposals and the candidates.” “We pretty much know how we want to vote and what we expect on the major tickets, like for president. But you have to read the others,” Giuseppe said.

Votes sent by mail are already being checked in as election officials get ready for two weeks of early voting in person.

“That’s the great thing about doing it for 14 days straight, 12 hours a day. “Go to our website ahead of time and check out the wait times,” said Christina White, Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections. “This is a very important tip that I really want people to use.”

Maria and Giuseppe want everyone to vote, whether they do it early, by mail, or on Election Day.

“Be here. Cast your vote. We need to go out and vote. We, our kids, our family, the city, and our country all care a lot about it. Maria said, “It’s very important.”

How to find the early voting locations

Where can Florida mail-in ballots be dropped off early?

People in Florida who asked for a vote-by-mail ballot have until 7 p.m. on Election Day to mail it or put it in a safe drop box at their county elections office. At early voting sites, voters can also put their ballots in a safe drop box.

People who want to vote by mail can check the website of their county’s Supervisor of Elections to find out where and when they can drop off their ballots in safe boxes.

Here you can find information about the Supervisor of Elections for each county, such as Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, Orange, and Palm Beach.

During the 2024 legislative session, a bill that would have only let people who can’t vote in person or early on Election Day vote by mail died.
