CINCINNATI — The 3-year-old girl who was mauled to death by her father’s dogs was attacked for 30 minutes with no one coming to her aid.
That’s according to the assistant prosecutor who spoke during Warren Houston’s arraignment via video on Friday. The fatal attack was reportedly captured on video.
The assistant prosecutor stated that one of Houston’s two dogs was known to be aggressive and was always caged, but the cage was not functional.
She also stated that there were no barriers preventing the dogs from reaching Kingsley Wright, who was sleeping on the couch at Houston’s Roselawn home last December.
She said the attack lasted about 30 minutes, with Kingsley yelling and crying and the dogs barking loudly.
No one in the house awoke until around 8 a.m. the next day, when she was discovered dead.
The assistant prosecutor stated that the coroner believes she did not die immediately.
Houston’s attorney stated that his client had recently begun grief counseling.
The judge ordered Houston held on $200,000 bond on involuntary manslaughter, endangering children, and reckless homicide charges.
