Around 11:15 p.m., Grzegorz Wolak hit Rachel McNeil in a red Ford Explorer on Passaic and Aycrigg streets.
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Chief of Police Luis A. Guzman were both in court on April 10. After two days, McNeil passed away at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.
As the Daily Voice said before, McNeil had two sons, a daughter, and 13 grandkids. He worked at the nearby St. Mary’s General Hospital.
Wolak ran away from the area and no one knows where he went. Detectives found out that Grzegorz Wolak owned and drove the car at the time of the accident while they were investigating.
Wolak was charged with second-degree Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He is being held while he waits for his first court date at Central Judicial Processing.
A motion for pre-trial detention will be made by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office. It will be reviewed by a Superior Court Judge at a date and time chosen by the Court.
