According to a new statewide survey conducted by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC), more than half of Californians are satisfied with Governor Gavin Newsom’s job performance. The study, conducted between February 4 and 11, polled 1,589 adult residents about state and federal leadership.
According to the findings, 52% of all voters and 55% of likely voters support Newsom, while 47% of adults and 45% of likely voters are opposed. His approval rating has increased slightly since October, when it was 44% among adults.
Los Angeles (61%), and the San Francisco Bay Area (54%), have the highest levels of support, while the majority of other regions are opposed. Partisan divisions remain stark, with 79% of Democrats in favor and 90% of Republicans opposed.
