Bella Flores named All-Ohioan after finishing in the elite eight in the state tournament

ChilenoThis past week, Bella Flores, a senior, finished her high school journey by becoming an All-Ohio tennis player at the Division I state tournament.

As of Thursday, Flores had won her first match. It was against Jillian To of Whitehouse Anthony Wayne and took three hours and fifteen minutes.

Flores won 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. She made it to the playoffs and All-Ohio because of the win.

After that, she lost her second match to Anna Mancino of Rocky River Magnificat in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

Flores had a 25-2 record this season. For the season, she went 18-0 and won the sectional title.

In Frontier Athletic Conference play, she never lost a set and had a perfect 32-0 record for her high school career. Also, in her last three seasons, she made it to districts.

There is still no choice for Flores about where to go to college, but she does plan to keep playing tennis at the next level.

The DI state winner was Mason’s Addison Cassidy.
