On Christmas Eve, a police officer fatally shot one of two men who allegedly were fighting in Middletown after receiving a 911 call.
According to city officials, officers were dispatched to an apartment shortly after 7 p.m. on Tuesday after receiving a report of two adult men fighting.
Officers allegedly knocked on the apartment door, identifying themselves as police. According to the city, one of the men opened the door and showed a weapon, prompting one of the officers to open fire.
The subject was pronounced dead on the scene.
