A suspect was arrested on Monday in connection with a one-person fatal shooting at a Reading bar and restaurant, according to the City of Reading Police Department.

Kenneth Thompson Jr., 32, was arrested on Dec. 23 after investigators claimed he “purposely caused the death” of Paul Montgomery, 53, “by firing a gun in his direction” at the Lounge Bar and Restaurant on Nov. 15.

Thompson is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of felony assault.

According to police, Thompson and Montgomery got into a verbal argument in the parking lot just outside the Lounge.

Following the argument, Thompson allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Montgomery several times in the chest and torso before fleeing.

Thompson is currently being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center.
