A man has been charged with the shooting death of a 43-year-old man who was discovered shot inside a crashed car.
D’Anthonie Jackson, 23, has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of felonious assault, and one count of discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises, according to Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr.\
As previously reported by News Center 7, Dayton officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Kammer Avenue before 1:25 a.m. on November 30th in response to a report of shots fired.
Officers discovered Steve Dews, 43, inside his car, which had crashed into a pole.
Dews was shot, according to police. He was taken to a hospital and later died.
Further investigation, including cell phone and text messages on the Dews’ phones, led homicide detectives to Jackson, according to Heck.
All counts include three-year firearm specifications.
According to online jail records, Jackson is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million cash bond.
His next court appearance is set for Tuesday, December 17.
