It has been reported by authorities that a young girl of five years old in the state of Texas inadvertently shot herself with a gun that she discovered inside her home.
During the midnight hours of Saturday night, deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8400 block of Parasol Lane, which is located close to Fairbanks North Houston Road.
During their response, they discovered that the young girl may have shot herself without intending to do so, as stated by Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
A child was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, where they underwent surgery after being carried there. It is anticipated that she will live.
Jason Nguyen, who is 33 years old and the girl’s stepfather, was taken into custody on counts of being a convicted criminal in possession of a weapon and possessing a prohibited narcotic. In the Harris County Jail, he was taken into custody.
It was reported by the sheriff that there were additional adults and children present in the house at the time of the occurrence.
This incident is still being looked into by authorities.
According to Fox 26, Nguyen has been convicted of many felonies and was sentenced to jail in 2014 for being a felon in possession of a weapon. This information comes from court documents.
Once again, Nguyen was taken into custody and charged with being a convicted felon who was in possession of a firearm in the month of August of this year.
According to the records, he posted bond and was free on that bond when his stepdaughter committed herself by shooting herself.
