Live updates for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: Reaction: Paul wins Tyson on points in underwhelming Netflix fight

Result:  Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson’s second boxing exit was even more painful than his first, as he lost to YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul in a dismal heavyweight bout on Friday.

The eight-round fight, which was live streamed on Netflix, was scored 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 in favor of Paul, who is 31 years Tyson’s junior.

The 58-year-old struggled with his movement throughout the fight, and in the final rounds, Paul appeared hesitant to inflict significant damage on the former undisputed world heavyweight champion. “I was trying to hurt him,” he claimed in the ring later.

Unfortunately, Tyson appeared to suggest after his defeat that he could be enticed back into the sport in the future. He identified Jake’s brother, Logan, as a possible next opponent.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s first foray into live combat sports hit some stumbling blocks, with several viewers reporting streaming and buffering issues prior to and during the fight.
