A man and a woman from Florida are in jail on charges that they attacked a man who wanted to have sex while being tied up on the beach.
An affidavit of probable cause for arrest says that around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, a “frantic” man stopped a Volusia County Sheriff’s deputy in the 1900 block of Ocean Shore Boulevard in Ormond by the Sea.
He had heavy bleeding all over his body. A man told a deputy that a man and a woman had jumped him on the beach.
The affidavit said he said he and a woman, later named as Alana Cagle, 18, agreed to meet at the beach and have sex. She would tie him up and then kiss him.
They drove to Bicentennial Park, parked the car, and walked to the beach, he said. Cagle picked him up at his house.
He began to feel “odd vibes” from Cagle because she was sitting only 5 feet away from him when they got to the beach. Still, she got a yellow rope from her bag and started to tie him up.
The affidavit said that this is when the victim saw another man coming toward them. Cagle jumped on top of his legs as he tried to free himself. He was able to push her away and start running away.
But the other man, later found to be Wayne Streeter, 24, had found him and tackled him. He says that Streeter choked him and Cagle hit him in the face. Deputies say that Cagle then got a hatchet and hit him all over the body with it.
A police report says the victim fought off both of the suspects and then ran to get help. He talked about Cagle’s car, and deputies said they pulled her over nearby while Streeter was inside.
It was also said that the victim had left behind a backpack. They said that when deputies tried to talk to Cagle, she asked to speak to a lawyer. Once Miranda was over, Streeter told the police that he and Cagle are dating.
Streeter said Cagle picked him up and took him to the beach. Then he said he saw a stranger push Cagle down on the beach and he ran to help her. Even though Streeter said no weapons were used, the affidavit said he did admit to choking the victim.
Police went to the beach and found blood and the yellow rope that was used to tie up the person. Several cuts and “multiple long cuts” were made to his abdomen. He was taken to the hospital by paramedics, where doctors treated his wounds.
Police caught Cagle and Streeter and charged them with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. They both put up a $5,000 bond since then. Their court dates are set for November 26.
