Thursday, police said they had arrested two people in connection with the shooting death of a 23-year-old man at a rural San Leandro skate park last year.
Deputy Sgt. Roberto Morales of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office said that Devin Stevenson and Ebony Cook were arrested by BART police on Wednesday night.
On June 15, 2023, just after 9 p.m., someone was shot at the skate park next to the REACH Ashland Youth Center at 16313 East 14th Street, according to Morales.
When police arrived, they found Darrion Johnson with a gunshot wound. At the scene, they said he was dead.
Stevenson and Cook were named as possible suspects in the case by the police. In this case, Stevenson was charged with murder, and Cook was charged with being an accomplice after the fact.
Morales said that charges are going to be brought in the case by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
Thursday, no more information about the case was given out.
