Western Massachusetts retail store is sold and will reopen as new store

Several Massachusetts retailers have recently undergone changes. One western Massachusetts location of a well-known retail chain will undergo a transformation due to a change in ownership.

A couple of different retailers recently acquired locations of the popular retail chain Big Lots. This occurred after Big Lots declared bankruptcy over the last year. Burlington and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet were the retailers that purchased those locations.

Following Big Lots’ bankruptcy filing, the company that had recently purchased them, Gordon Brothers, a Boston-based company, announced the sale of 15 Massachusetts store leases that remained open as Big Lots.

One of these is located in Pittsfield, Western Massachusetts. According to recent reports, the Pittsfield location will become an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet.

Another Big Lots in Massachusetts is currently converting to an Ollie’s Bargain Outlet as well. The location is in Fitchburg. According to reports, Burlington has only purchased one Massachusetts Big Lots location, in Revere.

According to Ollie’s recent social media posts, they’ve also been opening up a lot of new locations elsewhere…

According to a recent report from ‘Telegram.com’ via ‘USA Today Network’, one of these locations will eventually take over what is currently the Pittsfield Big Lots location.

As for Burlington. They already operate over 1,000 stores across the country, with more than 20 in Massachusetts.
