It is fish fry season! If you want to celebrate this annual Lenten tradition, go to one of these Ohio churches for a perfectly prepared feast:
St. Margaret of Cortona (1600 North Hague Avenue, Columbus)
St. Margaret of Cortona serves one of the best fish fry dinners in Columbus. It has been an annual tradition for many Columbus families for over 25 years, and guests are welcome to dine in or order carryout at the door. Choose between baked cod and fried ocean perch, with two sides of applesauce and macaroni and cheese.
All dinners include a drink, a buttery roll, and a delicious homemade dessert. On Fridays from March 7th to April 11th, doors will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Church of the Assumption (9183 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights)
The Church of the Assumption is well-known for its delicious Lenten feast. The dinner was so good that it won the “2020 Best Fish Fry in the Cleveland Diocese.” This year’s menu features fried cod, crab cakes, and cheese pierogies, along with sides like green beans and coleslaw.
Dine in or order online for easy takeout. Meet your friends for this hearty meal on Fridays from March 7th to April 11th.
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (109 East Perry Street, Port Clinton)
Immaculate Conception will once again host fish fries. The all-you-can-eat feast, held in Denny Bergeman Hall, costs $15 and includes hand-breaded fish, pierogies, fries, salad, desserts, coffee, and lemonade.
Are you in a hurry? Grab a hearty twelve-dollar dinner from the drive-thru. The church hosts fish fries every Friday during Lent and Good Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
