Mardi Gras parades are not limited to New Orleans or adults.

Dressed in colorful costumes, dozens of children and adults representing Krewe de Prank and other local Mardi Gras krewes marched in a Mardi Gras parade through Kansas City’s West Side neighborhood on Sunday.

The parade has become an annual event in the neighborhood, complete with shenanigans as implied by the name of the krewe that organizes it.

The krewe has been known to launch attacks on the homes of “rival” krewes, pelting them with toilet paper and silly string. Every year, parade participants stop to smother a local resident dressed as Maximón, the patron saint of bad behavior, with toilet paper and silly string.
