A JetBlue pilot from Ohio was arrested last week in North Carolina on child exploitation charges, according to authorities.
According to authorities and the airline, the pilot, 33-year-old Ohio resident Jeremy Gudorf, was apprehended on an outstanding warrant by US Customs and Border Protection officers on Friday as he arrived for work at Boston’s Logan International Airport.
According to public records, Gudorf lives in Xenia, which is about an hour’s drive west of Columbus in Greene County.
“The pilot has been placed on indefinite leave while law enforcement investigates the matter,” JetBlue told USA TODAY.
His flight was scheduled to arrive in Paris, according to Boston media outlet WCVB.
Police in North Carolina launched an investigation after 2024 tip
The Huntersville Police Department in North Carolina said it launched a “extensive” investigation after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in October 2024.
Google assisted officers in obtaining records and images that led to a warrant charging Gudorf with second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to police.
According to a police release, Gudorf is believed to have lived in North Carolina at the time of the alleged crime. However, he relocated out of state before being named a suspect in the investigation.
According to WCVB, Gudorf had an arraignment hearing on Friday and was granted $10,000 bail with orders to appear in North Carolina by Tuesday.
