During a news conference this week, a copy of a New York Post front page with President Donald Trump’s mugshot was seen hanging in an ornate gold frame near the Oval Office in the White House.

The photo was taken at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia after Trump turned himself in on August 24, 2023, and was featured on the front pages of newspapers around the world the next day.

Trump told Fox News Digital at the time that Georgia officials “insisted” on taking his mugshot during processing at the jail, which was “not a comfortable feeling — especially when you have done nothing wrong.”

Margo Martin, Trump’s special assistant and communications advisor, shared a photo of the new artwork, which quickly went viral on social media.

Dan Scavino, White House deputy chief of staff, later posted a video on X explaining the frame’s placement.

The mugshot closely resembles the President’s official White House portrait, which was unveiled in January.
The unprecedented charges stem from allegations that Trump attempted to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results, which are still unresolved.

At the time of the indictment, the Trump campaign described the case as a “continued pathetic attempt by the Biden crime family and their weaponized Department of Justice.”

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who filed the charges, is appealing a Georgia Court decision that barred her and her office from prosecuting the case.

A new prosecutor has not yet been appointed to the case.

Scott Hall, Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro, and Jenna Ellis are four of the co-defendants who have accepted plea deals in the case.
