State Route 9 (SR-9) between Redwood Gulch Road and Sanborn Road in Saratoga will be closed all day by Caltrans Bay Area-District 4. Starting September 30 and going through November 1, the closure will happen Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The road has to be closed so that maintenance workers can safely do their jobs, which include removing downed trees, cleaning out drainage systems, removing garbage, and regrading the slopes along the highway.
The part of SR-9 that is famous for its beautiful views and winding roads has been damaged by storms and needs this important repair to keep drivers safe and the road’s structure strong.
Drivers should plan for alternative routes during the closing time because there will likely be delays. People who need to drive should plan to take longer to get to work because of the detour routes.
The closure will impact both locals and tourists who are traveling through the area, especially those going to Castle Rock State Park and Big Basin Redwoods State Park, which are both popular outdoor destinations.
People who live or own businesses in the affected area should stay updated and change their travel plans as needed.
Caltrans asks people to be patient during this time and to follow the signs and reroute instructions to make travel go more smoothly.
