Two years ago, a 29-year-old woman from the Bay Area was charged with killing her 55-year-old mother, Olivia Lucia Beltran Pacheco. In January 2024, Beltran killed Olivia with a knife and live-streamed the whole thing on Facebook. After months, Beltran has changed her original plea of “not guilty” to one of “insanity.”
Changes were made during a court date on September 26, 2018. Judge Geoffrey Howard of the Marin County Superior Court told doctors to look at Beltran.
Beltran will be evaluated to see if she meets the law requirements to be labelled crazy. She will be admitted to a mental health treatment centre if the conditions are met.
During a live Facebook show in January, Beltran brutally stabbed her mother on their San Rafael balcony. People who were unlucky enough to see the murder quickly told the San Rafael Police Department about her.
When police got there, they broke down the door because Beltran didn’t answer. They said they found Beltran “holding a knife in her hand, standing next to a stabbed female victim, and her clothes soaked in blood.”
A Broken Home
Reports say that Beltran went to the Santa Rosa Police Station the same day her mother was killed to get her car back after it had been towed.
The police said they saw that Beltran was having “some mental health issues.” A video of Olivia pleading with Beltran to calm down was shared on social media before the murder was live-streamed.
