CPD: Days after the shooting in Avondale, a 27-year-old man died

A 27-year-old man died days after being shot in Avondale, Cincinnati police said.

CPD officers responded to the 800 block of Lexington Avenue around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of a person being shot.

Initially, Cincinnati police erroneously reported that the shooting took place Sunday at 11:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

CPD reported that he was transported to UC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The man, identified as Malik Thiam, died from his injuries on Tuesday.

CPD has not stated whether anyone has been arrested for the shooting or if they have any suspects.
