Serious rollover accident in Ridge: driver ejected from car, flown to trauma center

Emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle accident on Point Lookout Road in Ridge late Thursday night.

The accident happened around 10:41 p.m. on December 12, 2024, in the 13820 block of Point Lookout Road.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered a single patient lying in a field near the crash site. According to preliminary reports, the individual was ejected from their vehicle.

EMS provided immediate care to the injured patient, who required a MEDEVAC for further treatment.

Firefighters set up a landing zone at St. Michael’s School, and Maryland State Police Aviation Trooper 7 flew the patient to a regional trauma center.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is looking into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Crews cleared the scene and resumed service around 11:14 p.m.
