A man in Indiana used “Saran wrap” to try to suffocate his mother, telling cops he wanted to “convince her that he was not a little boy and that she couldn’t push him around” during an attack over missing money that also included punches and knees to the head, according to police.
Court documents obtained by local Fox affiliate WXIN charge Dylan Moles, 27, of New Castle with attempted murder, aggravated battery, domestic battery, and strangulation in connection with an alleged matricide attempt on November 29.

Police say Moles, who had just been released from jail on a bond for a previous alleged crime, punched, kneeled, and attempted to suffocate his mother with plastic “Saran wrap” after the two of them began arguing about $1,000 that he believed she had stolen from his CashApp account, according to WXIN.
Police claim that Moles started “beating on” the woman after she publicly denied taking the money. Moles allegedly told cops that he checked to ensure his mother’s house was empty before approaching her from behind with the plastic wrap.
Moles’ mother reportedly struggled as he allegedly put her in a headlock and dragged her onto a bed, where he continued punching her.
A local hospital treated Moles’ mother for a possible skull fracture, and witnesses reportedly corroborated her story during police interviews. They claimed Moles “calmly” fled on foot and was later discovered at a Discount Tobacco store.
According to WXIN, Moles has a lengthy criminal history, including previous arrests for criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, public intoxication, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, and other offenses.
He had been living with his mother for about two weeks after bonding out on charges stemming from a November 18 arrest for residential entry and criminal trespassing. The court has scheduled his appearance for that case on December 5.
