'A driver died in a crash in Hamilton,' the sheriff said

According to Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones, a driver died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning.

Around 5:50 a.m., Sheriff Jones reports, deputies and St. Clair Fire and EMS received a call to North 3rd Street near the Great Miami River bridge.

The 21-year-old driver of a 2011 Mitsubishi SUV was traveling southbound on U.S. 127 when he lost control and ran off the right side of the road, colliding with a tree, according to Sheriff Jones.

Sheriff Jones reports the driver’s death at the scene.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

We are still investigating the crash’s cause.
